HELP FOR STRESS
Conquering Stress, Depression and Anxiety
Everyone is at risk. Think about it...look at the demands, pressure and stress facing you each day. Sometimes, it can get downright overwhelming.
There are times when it gets to be too much, and you can feel "blue", helpless, lonely, isolated and discouraged. It almost seems like a never-ending cycle that you cannot seem to break out of. We have all heard what stress, depression and anxiety can do to our bodies and immune systems. Stress has been clinically proven as a factor in high blood pressure, anxiety attacks, heart problems, frequent illnesses and fatigue, to name just a few.
How can you break the cycle? How can you feel self-confident and energized? Can you really be happier, more calm and healthier by finding new coping skills to manage or eliminate your stress levels? How can you break through the fog, push through the negativity and overcome the stress for good?
Wouldn't it be great to imagine how much better your life could be if you were at your best no matter what was thrown at you?
Sometimes the answer is medications or talking to a therapist, but if there were things you could do on your own - every day - to feel better, wouldn't you want to check into it?
Luckily, there are things you can do to let go of problems and their hold on you for good. You can decide right now to let go of negative feelings about virtually every situation that has bothered you for years.
Why is it that we hold on to thoughts and feelings that make us feel bad about ourselves? What good does this do? Has it ever helped to worry or completely freak out about a problem...or does the problem snowball into an even bigger one from there? If you were able to calmly, rationally and confidently think positively that things would work out, don't you think you'd be in a much better position to make good decisions?
I know I've done it, too. To sit and dwell on problems instead of solutions makes the problem seem way too big for me to handle. The next time you feel the urge to complain or worry about a problem, ask yourself some questions.
- Is my current emotional state helping solve the problem, or making the problem seem worse?
- Am I currently in the best emotional state to make the best decision regarding the problem?
- Is my attitude, feelings and behavior helping or hurting me in this situation?
- Ideally, what resolution would I like to see in this situation (BEST case scenario)?
- What is the worst thing that could happen in this situation?
- Can I accept and then let go of these negative feelings?
If you can stop, breathe and ask yourself these questions, you may find solutions you never even would have thought of before. You may begin to feel better about the situation right away. You can keep things in perspective. Focus on the things you CAN do versus what cannot be done or changed.
This is not to say that you are not dealing with serious issues requiring solutions or at least, some kind of plan of action to turn things around. It is not about being unrealistic or in denial about situations that come up everyday. It is not about never having problems, or having a "Pollyanna" attitude about anything and everything.
The release technique, which gives you powerful tools and techniques you can use, is about dealing more effectively with negative feelings, and putting yourself in a more productive and positive frame of mind. When you are calm and thinking objectively, you will do better and make better and more sound judgements.
That is what coping better with stress and stress management tools are about.

Lowering your Blood Pressure
Part of reducing stress, depression and anxiety is learning how to manage your stress with better coping skills.
If you are relaxed, calm and feeling more confident and in control, the lower your blood pressure is likely to be. If you have high blood pressure, it is imperative to make the necessary lifestyle changes to get it under control. Lowering your blood pressure reduces your risk for serious health issues such as heart attack, stroke, sleep disorders, "bad" LDL cholesterol, stress and anxiety.
Studies have shown that concentrated relaxation or slow, deep breathing exercises can have a dramatic effect on lowering your blood pressure.
